Victim Services

Mirtha Machuca is our Special Victim Liaison that is responsible for attending all forensic interviews of children who have been victimized in our jurisdiction as well as available upon request from outside agencies. She acts as a liaison between Law Enforcement, the children, and their parents or guardians. She then discusses the interview with a representative from Childrenz Haven, a child advocacy center, the Polk County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, and Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. 

The Special Victim Liaison is grant-funded through the Criminal Justice Division Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant.
